One of the major achievements of Psycho Educational Society is establishment of B.D.P school in the year 2000 in Village Barauli; the interiors of Mathura District of Uttar Pradesh. The school is registered and recognized by UP Board of Education. It offers primary education programs starting from lower kindergarten to 8th grade, for boys and girls belonging to less privileged sections of the village Barauli and its neighborhood. Till date nearly 600 students have successfully completed 8th grade. The strength of students for the academic session 2016-2017 was about 300; among these 40% are girl students. English and Hindi is the medium of instruction for all grades; English is taught for all grades starting from grade 1. The school follows prescribed curricula of UP Board of Education. The students passing out from grade 8th are awarded certificates which are valid for seeking admission to the next higher grade.
In addition to imparting the formal education, the school also provides vocational education to its students. Many girls of the school were trained in tailoring and thereafter became capable of supplementing their family income.
The school conducts free skill development programs for village women in tailoring, embroidery, knitting and agriculture. These programs are offered every day/once in a week after school working hours. Till date over 150 village women have benefitted by these programs.
The school has computer laboratory headed by a well trained teacher. The lab facilities are offered not only to students of the school but also to the students of neighborhood. Large number of boys and girls of the village have become computer literate by making use of these facilities.
The school trains its students to compete with the students of well-established schools of UP state. In the year 2006-2007, six students of the school had earned the honors of successfully clearing the examination conducted by UP state government for the award of scholarships for higher education. Thereafter every year 4 to 5 students have been clearing these examinations for scholarship.
In summary our achievements include the implementation of rural education programs for underprivileged, women empowerment and health awareness in rural Uttar Pradesh, India.
